Live Entertainment Fuels San Antonio’s Destination Economy
Know Before You Go: Guns N’ Roses Sept. 16
SAN ANTONIO (September 15, 2026) — From sold-out-sized concert crowds to thousands of college football fans, a packed September at the Alamodome is putting a spotlight on the role major live entertainment plays in San Antonio’s destination economy.
Nearly 100,000 concertgoers attended the first two concerts of the month, with Karol G and My Chemical Romance each drawing nearly 50,000 fans. More than 33,000 fans also attended UTSA’s home opener on Sepember 5, bringing attendance for the first three major events of September to approximately 130,000.
The activity continues on Wednesday, September 16, when Guns N’ Roses takes the stage at the Alamodome, followed by Bruno Mars on Sept. 23, UTSA football on Sept. 26 and Iron Maiden on September 29. The schedule continues into October with The R&B Tour starring Usher Raymond & Chris Brown.
The concentrated schedule brings more than big crowds to the Alamodome. Major concerts and sporting events create opportunities to draw visitors into San Antonio and generate activity beyond the venue at hotels, restaurants, attractions and businesses throughout the city.
“September has been an incredible example of what the Alamodome was built to do — bring people together for major events while creating activity that extends well beyond our doors,” said Patricia Muzquiz Cantor, Director of the City of San Antonio Convention & Sports Facilities Department. “To see these crowds return week after week speaks to the strength of San Antonio as a live entertainment market and the role the Alamodome plays in bringing these experiences to our city.”
For Visit San Antonio, major live entertainment adds another dimension to a destination already known for its culture, history, culinary scene and hospitality, giving visitors new reasons to plan a trip to San Antonio.
“World-class entertainment gives people another reason to choose San Antonio, and when they come, the impact reaches far beyond the Alamodome,” said Mario Bass, President & CEO of Visit San Antonio. “Visitors stay in our hotels, dine in our restaurants, experience our attractions and support businesses throughout our community. This incredible September lineup showcases the energy of our city, strengthens our destination economy and helps us continue our mission of bringing the world to San Antonio.”

Traffic conditions may change throughout the day, so check current conditions and any posted street closures before heading to the event.
Downtown Parking
Additional parking is available at City-owned garages and lots throughout downtown.
