Alamodome Reveals New Basketball Court Design
With the UIL Girls and Boys State Basketball Championships just two weeks away, the Alamodome revealed its newly designed basketball court today. The home court features a fresh, updated look which utilizes the City of San Antonio’s signature color scheme and a lacquered Alamodome quatrefoil logo at center court. The baselines spotlight the words San Antonio and Alamodome in a bold, modern typeface. Made from maple hardwood, it consists of approximately 240 panels and takes about two hours to assemble.
“Our new court underscores our commitment to being a first-class venue for the UIL State Basketball Championships. We will strive to offer the best possible experience for the student athletes and the fans who will be visiting San Antonio and the Alamodome,” said Alamodome General Manager Nick Langella. “
“This new court is just one of many examples of the hospitality and cooperation the San Antonio Alamodome has shown in preparation for the UIL Basketball State Tournaments,” said Dr. Charles Breithaupt, UIL Executive Director. “We are confident the state championships will be an excellent experience for our student-athletes, coaches and fans and we look forward to these historic events in the coming weeks.”
Designed by the Alamodome graphics team and refinished by Quality Hardwood Floors, the court will officially debut March 5-7, with the UIL Girls State Basketball Championship, followed by the Boys State Championship March 12-14.
