Increased traffic congestion expected due to U.S. vs. Mexico

The United States will kick off against “El Tricolor” at the Alamodome on Wednesday, April 15 at 7:30 p.m.    The Fan HQ will open at 3:30 p.m. on the Alamodome’s North Plaza.  The match is SOLD OUT.  Due to downtown traffic and area construction, fans should plan to arrive at least one (1) hour prior to the start of the match. Commuters traveling in and out of the downtown area during afternoon drive time are advised to plan ahead due to increased traffic volume expected in the area.     Traffic congestion is expected to be heaviest between 3:30 and 8:00 p.m.  Parking for U.S. vs. Mexico is $25 and is LIMITED.  Lots will open at 3:30 p.m. Disabled Parking and drop off area are located in Alamodome Lot A.  Alamodome doors will open at 6:00 p.m.

Park and Ride – Patrons are encouraged avoid the traffic and parking hassles by taking VIA Park and Ride service from the AT&T Center’s Lots 6 & 7.  On Wednesday, buses will begin running at 4:00 p.m. and return service will run for 45 minutes following the conclusion of the match. 

The fare is $2.50 each way (total of $5.00 roundtrip) with a discount fare available to children, seniors, Medicare recipients, and students. VIAtrans customers and children under five years of age ride free. VIA’s passes are not valid for this service. Camera & Tablet Policy - No professional cameras or digital tablets are allowed. Cameras with a detachable lens or any cameras with a fixed lens larger than four inches are not allowed. Video recording with any device is prohibited.  Mobile phones are allowed but proper cell phone etiquette is encouraged in order for all fans to enjoy the event.

 

Tailgating – Tailgating is not permitted.

Prohibited Items – Weapons (including concealed carry license), whistles, air horns, vuvuzelas, flags with poles, balloons, air horns, drums, glass, coolers, large backpacks or bags or pets (EXCEPT FOR SERVICE ANIMALS) and inflated soccer balls will not be permitted in the facility.
