Drum Corps International marches into Alamodome
The Southwestern Championship for Drum Corps International (DCI) is Saturday, July 23, at 2:30pm at the Alamodome. From 15 states around the USA and from right here in San Antonio, 25 touring music organizations compete in one of the 2011 DCI tour’s largest and most prestigious events.
Tickets are $30, $45, and $55. The box office opens at 11:30am, doors open at 1:30pm, and the event starts at 2:30pm. With 25 bands, this high-energy event will last all evening. There is a one hour intermission scheduled at 6:30pm and an awards ceremony scheduled for 11:30pm. Each group performs an 11-minute show with percussion instruments while marching on the football field of the Alamodome.
