Mexico vs. Korea Republic
World Cup-bound Mexico will kick off preparations for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil against Korea Republic on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014 (8 p.m. CST) at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
The Alamodome last hosted a Mexican National Team game in November 2004 as part of its annual U.S. tour, defeating Guatemala 2-0. The match in San Antonio will be the first of five for Mexico as part of its annual U.S. tour. Additional tour information will be announced at a later date.
Mexico and Korea Republic have played 10 games all-time with a 5-3-2 winning record for El Tricolor. The two nations last met in 2006 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum as part of the U.S. tour, with Korea Republic winning 1-0. The Asian country was one of the first nations to qualify to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil after finishing second in Group A of the Asian zone qualification.
