Alamo City Run Fest
San Antonio will celebrate the inaugural running of the Alamo City Running Festival (ACRF). Comprised of four different event distances (Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and 1K Kids Run), the ACRF caters to all ages and fitness levels, runners and walkers alike. The first event of the day is the Alamo City Half Marathon which starts at the Alamodome and unlike the numerous other downtown runs, follows a unique course westward into the heart of the historical Inner West Side of San Antonio. With various forms of entertainment along the course, the route eventually turns north toward beautiful Woodlawn Lake where it loops around the lake before heading back for a finish INSIDE the Alamodome! The H-E-B Alamo 10K and SA-5K events follow a bit later in the morning with the Alamo Kids Classic Fun Run (1K) putting the exclamation point on the day’s events. Partial proceeds from the event will go to help support two wonderful organizations that are focused on helping others. Operation Homefront Texas is an organization that provides emergency financial and other assistance to the families of our service members and wounded warriors. Texas Regional Paralympic Sports is dedicated to helping those with physical disabilities participate in sports, many of whom are wounded warriors. Come out to run, walk, cheer or volunteer!
